What was missing?

Have you ever been beat up emotionally and spiritually by genuine people you know loved the Lord? Their advice hit you like lead bullets in the heart. They quoted scriptures like a machine gun, thinking, sincerely that it would answer the hurt inside you.

I spent many years feeling just like that – beat up, misunderstood, corrected when I already knew what was wrong and was fighting it with all my strength and not winning, advised with words that I already knew were in the Bible,  but were not helping me at all, and told to just keep on keeping on, it will be alright, but it wasn’t.

One day, in total frustration, I told God, “I don’t understand why You don’t answer me, You don’t talk to me the way they say you are talking to them, You don’t set me free from my past, it keeps coming back to beat me up whether through my own mind, or my “friends” condemnation.”

I said, “If You don’t fix me, I am unfixable.”

He decided to remind me of some things that had escaped me. I began to realize I had shut down even hearing His Word because of the way it had been presented to me. I only saw through my concept of condemnation. I wasn’t able to be what I thought I had to be, and knew I never would be, so why even believe I had hope?

Verses, after I asked Him those questions started flooding me.

“I will Remove your Sin as far as the East is from the West.”

“I will Make YOU a New Creature.”

“You will be Born of My Holy Spirit.”

But then, after these quotes, He spoke, “You asked me to forgive you. And I did. I have removed those sins and hangups as far as the East is from the West. I have made you white as snow. You insult Me when you bring them up again, like I didn’t keep My Word. When you, or anyone else, brings them back up, you feel My withdrawal because You are walking backwards into sin. Look Up. Seek Me. I have not brought those things back up. You have.”

The next verse He gave me was, “Go and sin no more.”

“All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”

I John 1:8-10 says, “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.”

1 John 2:1 “My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.”

When we take a fall, we must get back up, repent, and chase God. Seek Him and we will find Him.

Prov. 24:16 “For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.”
